I read Alanna when I discovered her in the library and it was a mission to hunt down all of the Tortall books I could. They were the beginning of a new world for me and as a girl reading fantasy I finally had my lady knights! I read most of the series out at the time but I fell behind as I got older and had less time for reading. The Circle of Magic series always had a special place in my heart (I loved them all but Briar was my favorite) and I never finished the second series. I want to go back as an adult and see how they hold up (and let’s be real relive the magic) and finally finish the other series.

Authors like Tamora Pierce have put a lot of time and heart into her worlds and I have so much love for her characters and stories (seriously, if you have the time check out her page, she’s lovely).

Alanna was definitely a childhood hero of mine. I probably will do Tortall as well but you have to start somewhere.
